This overlooked and highly underrated program of the fifties is one of the best sitcoms of all time. A lifelong performer since childhood, Ms. Davis brought her great timing and knockabout style of comedy which she mastered so well in her movies of the 30's and 40's to the small screen and really makes this show work.

BRAD'S MUSTACHE: Joan wants Brad to grow a mustache, thinking that it will make him look more "dignified" and give him a better shot at being appointed a Superior Court judge.

BROKEN TOE: Brad is hospitalized for a broken toe. Joan tries to visit after hours, when they won't let her visit, she feigns an illness so she can be admitted to the hospital. She almost has gallbladder surgery by trading rooms to be next to him.
