Hello everyone!

My name is Robby Williams, and I am a Psychologist working in the Mental Health field. I am also a Health Coach as well as a Life Skills Coach. I talked about everyday cognitive decision-making skills, as well as mental health problems and the healthcare dilemmas in America. Today, we will be discussing the influence of Social Media on your mental well-being. According to research, people who use social media too much may feel inadequate, anxious, or depressed.

The incessant comparison to others' well-crafted lives can engender excessive expectations and a sensation of FOMO, or fear of missing out. Moreover, cyberbullying and online harassment can adversely impact mental health, particularly in younger individuals.

On the contrary, social media can also bring benefits that will have positive effects on your mental health. For example, it offers an opportunity for you to have a platform for your passion to help other people, meaningful connectivity, building support, and enhancing community development. Exchanging experiences and soliciting counsel from similar people can cultivate a sense of community and alleviate feelings of isolation. It is essential to acknowledge the potential advantages while remaining cognizant of the adverse elements.

Let’s discuss practical measures to maintain a constructive relationship with social media. Establishing boundaries, such as restricting screen time and unfollowing accounts that evoke negative feelings, can contribute to a more positive online experience. It is also crucial to engage in offline activities, practice mindfulness, and seek professional assistance when necessary to protect your psychological wellness.
