Left to get a little 420 celebration, and found out I had a flat tire once I reached the dispensary.
I put the spare on, it was too low. The donut tire came half off, in the middle of West 11th, but KFC. 100% my very bad. Check your spare now, if you can, and have not.
So, I pulled the tire, and carried 8 blocks to Les Schwab. (If I had rolled it, it would have taken three times as long, and added danger to the journey.)
Ironically, there was a closed “Goodyear” tire shop right there, by the mini mall parking lot I manged to pull into.
Got to Les Schwab, they couldn't patch the tire.
So, had to buy a new tire. I went ahead and had the other front tire replaced.
Left the house at 9:50AM, and returned at 2:30PM..
Would have been a 45-min trip tops, but nooooo.. Life had other plans.
I am glad it did go flat, it was dangerously worn. I missed it.
I would rather have to carry a tire 16 blocks, then to have one blow out and injure/kill my loved ones.
Needless to say, I will be doing an end to end safety check on the car VERY soon.
Grateful that at age 56, hauling a car tire on my back for 16 blocks, was not really that big a deal.
Time to shower, and then put something on these cuts..
