Danny Garwood has been playing guitar with passion for six years, drawing inspiration from blues greats like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Gales, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Based in Nashville, TN, his mission is to keep the blues alive and inspire the next generation of musicians.
Danny’s musical journey began at just 10 years old when he attended his first jam session and was invited to perform. That moment sparked a deep love for the guitar, and by age 11, he was playing regularly at live shows and jam sessions.
In 2022, Danny competed in the prestigious '10 under 20' competition at the Dallas International Guitar Festival. During the event, blues artist Ally Venable invited him to join her on stage, a performance that went viral on YouTube with over 5 million views. This moment led to further opportunities, including opening for Ally in Houston, TX, and Nashville, TN. In 2023, Danny returned to the '10 under 20' competition, placing 3rd as its youngest participant.
One of Danny's greatest honors has been sharing the stage with blues legends Buddy Guy and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium during Buddy Guy's Farewell Tour. He also hosts the youth blues jam at Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, MS, as part of the International Blues Challenge.
A two-time Masterclass alum of the Pinetop Perkins Foundation workshops, Danny has refined his skills under the mentorship of blues legends, including Bob Margolin of the Muddy Waters Band, continuing his dedication to preserving and advancing the blues tradition.
