🎶 Jimmy McShane – The Voice Behind "Tarzan Boy" | The Untold Story of Baltimora 🌍

Jimmy McShane (1957–1995) was a Northern Irish singer, dancer, and performer best known as the charismatic frontman of Baltimora, the Italo-disco act behind the 1985 global hit “Tarzan Boy.”

Born in Derry, Northern Ireland, McShane followed his love of music and performance to London’s West End before moving to Milan, where he met producer Maurizio Bassi. Together they formed Baltimora, blending infectious synth-pop rhythms with McShane’s striking stage presence. “Tarzan Boy” became an international sensation, reaching charts around the world and later finding new life in films, commercials, and pop culture.

Behind the success was a story of resilience and artistry. McShane, one of the few openly gay performers of his era from Northern Ireland, faced personal struggles and homophobic violence. After contracting HIV, he returned home to Derry, where he passed away in 1995 at just 37 years old.

Today, Jimmy McShane’s legacy lives on through his music, his courage, and his unforgettable contribution to 1980s pop culture.
