Make and bake this hearty and delicious casserole, which comes together quickly, and bakes up beautifully. for a "home" weeknight meal. They're great for cold nights, and they are well-received at "company" and "potluck" dinners

📝Ingredients
2 tbsp soft butter
1 cup bread crumbs
2 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
½ tsp steak seasoning
½ cup chicken breast, cut into bite-sized cubes
1 ½ tsp butter
1 ½ tsp lard
½ small onion, dice
½ cup carrots, dice
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 ½ cups cubed raw potatoes
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
one stalk of celery, dice
1 tsp prepared garlic
2 tbsp fine diced herbs (tarragon, dill, and cilantro)
1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 cups chicken broth
1 ½ tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
One buttered casserole dish
1 cup shredded smoky bacon cheddar
☝🏼Preparations
Heat a skillet on low heat, 225 - 249 degrees Fahrenheit
Preheat range oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
👣Directions
In a medium-low skillet, add butter and crumbs and stir to toast brown. Place crumbs into a bowl, add parmesan, stir, and set aside
Season chicken.
In the same skillet, turn up to medium-high and add butter, lard, and onions and cook for 1 minute.
Add chicken, stir, and cook until there is no pink.
Add carrots, cabbage, potatoes, mixed vegetables, celery, garlic, herbs, and lemon juice
Add chicken broth, turn skillet down to medium-low, and cook for about 10 minutes
Combine cornstarch and water; add to the skillet and once it begins to thicken,
spoon thickened mixture into a buttered casserole dish
Bake for 10 minutes.
Take out of the oven carefully and add crumbs and smoky bacon cheddar cheese on top
Bake a little longer until bubbly about 10 minutes
