🍓"The "Hippy Shake,"🌿 born from the baby boomers' lifestyles, embraced a new way of nourishing their bodies. Infused with spirit, it was not just a drink but a statement—a declaration of a commitment to wholesome living and a rejection of overly processed foods. The original shake was a colorful blend of raw beet, cabbage, carrot, apple, raw honey, and a whole egg with its shell symbolizing vitality. It was a testament to a generation unafraid to challenge culinary norms. The smoothie was born in the late 20th century, growing out of a fascination for health and convenience that set the fitness craze societal shift towards onthe-go Nutrition. This culinary time capsule connects the dots between the health craze of the past and the contemporary love affair with nutrientrich and flavorful revitalized smoothies, bringing us to the present year of 2024.

2. Wash your hands with soap and warm water to ensure food safety and hygiene.

3. Ensure tools and equipment are clean.

4. Essential tools and equipment: Blender, Cutting board, Knife, Measuring cups and spoons

Mixing bowls, Spatula, and a Strainer.

5. Set up your workspace by organizing your tools and utensils; pre-measure all ingredients according to the recipe.

🍓Ingredients:

- 1 cup peeled and diced carrot

- 2 oz. walnut pieces

- 2 tablespoons raisins

- 3/4 cup shredded cabbage

- 1/2 cup diced apple

- 1 cup whole frozen strawberries

- 1/4 cup peeled and diced cucumber

- 1 cup cold almond milk

🍓Instructions:

1. Prepare the vegetables and fruits mentioned in the ingredients to make the shake.

2. Add diced vegetables, fruits, walnuts, and raisins to a blender and fill with cold almond milk. Blend until smooth.

3. Serve your shake in charming old jelly glass jars for a nostalgic feel. The transparent jars allow the vibrant colors of your smoothie to shine through, making them visually appealing.

🍓Tips:

- Plantbased and Vegan versions: Use almond, soy, or coconut yogurt; opt for nondairy milk like almond, soy, coconut, or oat milk; use ground flax seed instead of nuts; replace honey with agave nectar or date syrup for sweetness; adjust quantities as needed.

- Utilize frozen strawberries or other fruits without diluting the flavor with ice cubes.

- Elevate the taste with vanilla extract or dashes of cinnamon for added depth and complexity.

- Adjust the milk or yogurt to customize the shake thickness.

- Garnishing with strawberry slices or a sprig of fresh mint.

- Chill glasses or jars in the freezer to maintain the shake's temperature.

🍓Cautions:

- In the past, some recipes, like the original Hippie Shake, included a whole egg with its shell. However, it's not recommended today due to the risk of salmonella contamination associated with raw eggs. To minimize health risks, it's advisable to use pasteurized eggs or eliminate the use of the shell in recipes involving raw eggs.

- Introducing new foods to a child's diet using honey may not be suitable, especially if the child is under one year old. Always consult a pediatrician before introducing new foods.
