There is a giant winter storm going to be moving across the lower 48, a low pressure is going to form in the Gulf of Mexico. Theres a piece of nothern stream energy that is riding the jet stream down and the two will phase together. Theres another low pressure out near the Baja of California, that will also become a part of this giant storm that will stretch from New Mexico to the Northeast. To the north, there will be snow. Places such as Cincinnati, Dayton, Lexington, Evansville and Columbus will recieve 12 - 18 inches of snow. Indianapolis, Terra Haute, Springfield and Vandalia will recieve up to 12 inches of snow. North of that area accumulations will drop the farther north you are in the states of Ohio and Indiana. Kentucky is a different story completely. The northwest part of the state will stay snow primarily, with accumulations as high as 20 inches locally. The southeast portion of the state will start as sno bu switch over to ice then rain due to warm air coming up from south ahead of the main center of low pressure. In between theres going to be an area that picks up possibly an inch of freezing rain. The storm moves into our area on Saturday the 24th of January and will be leaving the afternoon of Monday January 26th. For the latest updates keep it here.
