John Nemechek is a former NASCAR Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series driver who competed from 1994-1997. He is the younger brother of 4 time Nascar Cup Series winner Joe Nemechek and the uncle of John Hunter Nemechek, who currently is a Nascar Cup Series driver. John was both a driver and racecar builder, in fact in 1996 he ran the exact same truck in every single race, nicknaming it the War Wagon. He drove for NEMCO Motorsports in both his Xfinity Series debut in 1994 and in the majority of the Craftsman Truck Series races in 1995. Also John was his brother's front tire changer in 1992 when Joe won the Xfinity Series championship. Sadly, John lost his life in an accident at Homestead Miami Speedway in 1997. His death would lead the track to reconfigure the layout so that another wreck such as his would not happen again.
