Geoff Bodine is a former NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Craftsman Truck Series and Modified driver who competed from 19722011. He was the first driver to win for Hendrick Motorsports back in 1984. He also won the 1986 Daytona 500. Bodine drove for several high profile race teams throughout his NASCAR career, including Hendrick Motorsports, Junior Johnson and Associates and Bud Moore Engineering. In 1993 Geoff purchased Alan Kulwicki's race team after the 1992 Nascar Cup Series champion lost his life in a plane crash, making him an owner/driver. In 2000, during the inaugural Daytona 250 for the Craftsman Truck Series, Bodine was involved in a horrific accident, sidelining him for 10 races. In 2002 he would return to Daytona and finish 3rd in the Daytona 500 driving the #09 for James Finch. Geoff is the oldest of 3 racing Bodine brothers, Todd is the youngest and Brett is the middle brother. He ran his final few Nascar Cup Series races in 2011 for Tommy Baldwin Racing. Now in the Modifieds, Bodine was one of the very best drivers of his generation, really of all time. Winning lots of races and championships, including the 1980 Spring Sizzler, 1980-81 Oxford 250, 198081 Dogwood 500 classic Modifieds and many more. He is even in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most wins in a season for winning 55 modified races in 1978.
