Bill Davis Racing was a race team who competed in the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Cratsman Truck Series and ARCA Series from 1988-2008. Some notable drivers spent time behind the wheel of one of the team's racecars such as Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte, Ward Burton, Kenny Wallace, Dave Blaney, Mike Skinner and Johnny Benson among several others.

Davis not only had the opprotunity when they switched to Dodge in 2001 to potentially become a superteam. Before Jeff Gordon had ever became the driver of the #24 Chevrolet, Ford was prepared to give Davis total factory support to bring Gordon to the NASCAR Cup Series. Instead Rick Hendrick was able to bring him to HMS. Nonetheless, BDR was still able to win some of the sport biggest events, including the Daytona 500 and Southern 500.

As a new manufacturer eyed an entrance into NASCAR, Toyota was needing some knowledable personel who had connections in the NASCAR industry. Davis would serve as the needed personel Toyota was looking for. Though it would cause Dodge to sue the team and eventually be a big part in why they eventually would close there doors.
