Blaise Alexander is a former stock car driver who competed from 1995-2001. He made starts in the Nascar Xfinity Series, Craftsman Truck Series and the ARCA Menards Series. Alexander was best friends with 7 time Nascar Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson. Blaise spent time behind the wheel of race cars for team owners such as Felix Sabates and Joe Falk. At Charlotte Motor Speedway in October 2001, Alexander and good friend Kerry Earnhardt got into a horrible accident fighting for the lead with only a few laps to go. Earnhardt made it out safely, though just like Earnhardt's father in February, Alexander died of a Basilar Skull Fracture. He was the 6th different death in the previous 24 months to lose there life due to this injury. In the wake of this NASCAR made the HANS device mandatory for all drivers, as well as installing SAFER Barriers on the walls of every oval track in Nascar.
