Delma Cowart was a former Nascar Cup Series and ARCA Series owner/driver who competed from 1981-1997. Almost always behind the wheel of his #0 racecars, Cowart ran his operation on a shoestring budget. Attempting way more races than he would qualify for. Only qualifying for 21 races over the years including 4 DaytoSUBSna 500s. Cowart regularly attempted the Daytona 500. Making his final attempts in 1997, after missing the call to start engines for the 1997 Winston Open. Delma decided to take his #0 out on track anyway even with getting inspected by NASCAR. Due to this NASCAR fined Cowart $5,000 for his actions, Cowart never attempted another event.
