Geoff Bodine Racing is a former Nascar Cup Series and Craftsman Truck Series race team who competed from 1993-1998. Bodine became an owner/driver in the fall of 1993, when he leased the assets of Alan Kulwicki Racing after the spring plane crash that took Kulwicki's life. Bodine left the entire team intact, personnel and all.
The first full season together was by far their best, winning 5 poles and 3 races, as well as the All Star race at Charlotte. Bodine found most of his success on Hoosier tires. Though as the cars began to change and Hoosier left the sport at the conclusion of the 1994 season. Hoosier has not made another attempt to battle Goodyear for tire supremacy in NASCAR again to this day.
Over the next few seasons, Bodine added a Craftsman Truck Series entry to the team. Dave Rezendez mainly was the driver for that part of the operation. He scored a few victories and was able to show his talent. Geoff and his son Barry also made periodic starts in the Truck Series. Tammy Jo Kirk made nearly 20 starts with a best finish of 11th.
Geoff Bodine won his final Nascar Cup Series race at his hometrack of Watkins Glen in 1996, this also was the teams final victory in the Cup Series. After starting to fall behind both on the racetrack and financially, Bodine sold a part of his team in 1998 then all of it prior to the 1999 season. He sold it to Jim Mattei and John Porter.
