Cale Yarborough was a former Nascar Cup Series and IROC Series driver who competed from 1957-1988. Making starts for some notable race teams throughout his racing career such as Holman-Moody, Wood Brothers Racing, Bud Moore Engineering, Ellington Racing, Junior Johnson and Associates, MC Anderson Racing and Rainier-Lundy Racing. Yarborough is widely known as one NASCAR'S greastest drivers of all-time. His achievements include 4 Daytona 500 victories, 5 Southern 500 victories, in the second half of the 1970s Yarborough became the first driver to ever win 3 consecutive Nascar Cup Series championships.

Not only did he win in the Cup Series but he is tied for 6th on the all-time winners list with Jimmie Johnson. Also winning an IROC Series championship in 1984. In the late 1960s and early 1970s Yarborough ran 4 Indianapolis 500s. Following the 1980 Nascar Cup Series season Yarborough cut back to running about half the schedule. Retiring from active competition following the 1988 season.

Owning his own Cup Series raceteam from 1987-1999, called Cale Yarborough Motorsports. Even winning a Cup Series race in 1997 with John Andretti at Daytona in the summer. In 1998 he was voted as one of NASCAR'S 50 greatest drivers and in 2023 he was voted one of NASCAR'S 75 greatest drivers. Getting inducted into the NASCAR HOF with the class of 2012.
