Ellington Racing is a former Nascar Cup Series race team that competed from 1968-1989, which makes this one of NASCAR'S LOST TEAMS. Hoss Ellington was the team's owner. Several notable drivers spent time behind the wheel of one of the team's racecars such as Cale Yarborough, AJ Foyt, Bobby Issac, Donnie Allison, David Pearson, Buddy Baker, Sterling Marlin and Dale Jarrett. Though this team was around for two decades they never ran a full season throughout their entire existence.

Donnie Allison was the most closely associated and driver the team found the most success with. The team's prime years were from 1974-1984. Sheldon "Runt" Pittman served as this team's crew chief throughout its entire existence. Pittman would later find more success in the late 1980s and first half of the 1990s work as an engine builder for Morgan McClure Motorsports.

By the second half of the 1980s Ellington Racing had begun to wind down. With sponsorship drying up and quality people and parts harder and harder to come by, after DNQ'ing the 1989 Daytona 500 the team shut down for good.
