Mach 1 Racing is a former Nascar Cup Series team, owned by Hollywood stuntman Hal Needham and Burt Reynolds. Their team competed from 1981-1988. The team only had 3 different drivers make starts in one of the teams race cars, Stan Barrett, Harry Gant, and Morgan Shepherd. This teams prime years were from 1982-1985. Winning several races and pole positions, even finishing inside the top 5 in Cup Series point standings 4 separate times.

Gant would leave Mach 1 Racing at the conclusion of the 1988 Cup Series season. Taking both the number 33, as well as the teams main sponsor, Skoal, to Jackson Brothers Motorsports. Since their primary sponsor left the team, Needham sold the team to Bill Edward's prior to the beginning of the 1989 Nascar Cup Series season.
