Red Bull Racing is a former Nascar Cup Series and Xfinity Series race team that competed from 2006-2011. This team was formed when two Red Bull Energy Drink founders decided to form a Nascar team. Not to be confused with the Formula 1 team of similar name. In 2006, Bill Elliott attempted a race and AJ Allmendinger attempted a couple races, not able to qualify for any races with the older Dodge bodies they purchased from Bill Davis Racing, due to the fact Toyota's weren't allowed in Nascar until 2007.
Brian Vickers was the team's first full time driver they would hire, to drive number 83 Toyota. AJ Allmendinger was the team's second driver they would hire, to drive the teams second car the number 84 Toyota. The 2007 Nascar Cup Series season was a very difficult one for Red Bull Racing. Vickers would DNQ 13 times and Allmendinger 19 times throughout the 2007 season. In 2008 the team improved to where they were qualifying for the vast majority of the races, even scoring some top 10s. Allmendinger left the team with 7 races to go in the season. Scott Speed would be his replacement.
The 2009 Nascar Cup Series season ended up being the best season Red Bull Racing would have in the Cup Series. The number 83 of Brian Vickers scored 6 poles, 1 win, 4 top 5s and 13 top 10s, making the chase finishing 12th in final Cup Series point standings. Speed had a tough season and left the team at the end of 2010. For the 2011 season, Kasey Kahne joined the team to run one full season before moving to Hendrick Motorsports in 2012. Vickers returned to his number 83 Toyota full time in 2011, in what would turn out to be Red Bull Racing's final season in the Nascar Cup Series. Kahne has a solid season scoring 2 poles, 1 win, 8 top 5s and 15 top 10s, finishing 14th in point standings. Vickers scored 3 top 5s and 7 top 10s, finishing 25th in point standings.
It isn't Red Bull Racing as a race team, though starting in 2025 Red Bull will be returning to Nascar to serve as primary sponsor for Shane Van Gisenbergen for 5 Cup Series races, as well as primary sponsor for Connor Ziliches Cup Series debut at COTA, both driving for TrackHouse.
