Carl Long is a former Nascar Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Craftsman Truck Series, ARCA Series, Hooters Pro Cup Series and Late Model driver who competed from 1988-2020. Throughout Long's career he made starts for a variety of low level teams, including Rick Ware Racing, Mike Harmon Racing, Front Row Motorsports, Hoover Motorsports and Mansion Motorsports. In 2016 Long became owner of Motorsports Business Management or MBM Motorsports that is still active to this day. When Long finally qualified for his first Nascar Cup Series race, the 2000 Coca-Cola 600, he gave up his seat to NASCAR legend Darrell Waltrip so that Waltrip could run his final career Coca-Cola 600. In 2004, Long was involved in a accident at Rockingham that involved him getting airborne and flipping down the backstretch. While practicing for the Sprint Showdown in 2009, Long was found to have a slightly oversized engine. This would cause him to be suspended for at least 12 weeks and a very large fine was handed down to the team. Due to the fact this was a very small operation, they were not able to pay the steep fine. Eventually by 2017 Long had paid the fine and he and NASCAR were able to workout the majority of their differences. Finally alonging Long to run in the Cup Series again. Carl made his final NASCAR start in 2020, now he focuses on running his raceteam MBM Motorsports.
