The NASCAR Driver Who Stormed The White House: Tighe Scott

Tighe Scott is a former Nascar Cup Series and Modified driver who competed from 1969-1985. After spending several seasons running Modifieds, in 1976 Scott, armed with $5,000 in sponsorship money purchased the #30 ride. For that seasons Daytona 500 from Walter Ballard, the car owner. Scott would end up making 89 Nascar Cup Series starts throughout his career, 87 of which were made in one of Ballards race cars.


Retiring from racing in 1985, Scott would move back to his hometown. Running a construction business and Scotty's Fashion, a garment company his father started. In Janurary 2021 there was a Breach on the White House by Trump Supports. Surpringly Tighe Scott turned out to be one of those people, getting arrested by the FBI on June 5, 2024. Police got him on video committing some of the alleged crimes. In the end, Trump was reelected president and granted almost every particpant a presidential pardon.
