Bud Moore is a former Nascar Cup Series team owner whose team, Bud Moore Engineering competed from 1961-2000. Prior to being a team owner Moore worked as a head mechanic for teams in Nascar since 1950. Several notable drivers spent time behind the wheel of one of his teams racecars such as Joe Weatherly, Tiny Lund, Bobby Issac, Buddy Baker, Bobby Allison, Benny Parsons, Dale Earnhardt, Ricky Rudd, Morgan Shepherd and Geoff Bodine.

Before joining Nascar Moore served overseas during WWII involved in both battles in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He ended his military career as a Sergeant.

As Nascar continued to grow through the 1990s Bud Moore Engineering really fell behind there competition. So much so that by the turn of the century Moore sold off the majority ownership of his race team to the Fenley's before the team shutdown permanently in 2000.
