Cecil Gordon is a former Nascar Cup Series owner/driver who's team, Gordon Racing competed from 1970-1983. As the teams owner/driver. Gordon made the majority of the starts that the team made. In over 400 Cup Series starts, Gordon Racing never won a race or even finished a single race on the lead lap. A few notable drivers who made at least one start in one of the teams race cars, were Dave Marcis, Lake Speed, Lennie Pond and Morgan Shepherd.

As Nascar worked their way into the 1980s, Cecil Gordon had begun to cut back the amount of starts both he and his team would make each season. By 1983, Gordon was driving a Chrysler that he purchased from Buddy Arrington. After Gordon retired from active driving he worked as a crewman for Richard Childress Racing and Travis Carter Enterprises.
