James D. Stacy a.k.a. Jim Stacy was an entrepreneur and a former NASCAR Cup Series team owner from 1977-1983. At one point Stacy sponsored with his name on 7 separate cars in the 1982 Daytona 500. Notable driver to spend time behind the wheel of one of Jim Stacy Racing's race cars were Niel Bonnett, Ferrel Harris, Sterling Marlin, Joe Ruttman, Tim Richmond, Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt. The team was formed out of the former Nord Krauskopf #71 K&K Insurance team. In the 7 seasons Jim Stacy Racing was in business, overall his cars made 126 Cup Series starts, scoring 4 wins, 21 top 5s, 53 top 10s. .
