A shocking and heartbreaking incident has shaken the Indian and Indian-Canadian community.

Chandan Kumar Raja Nandakumar (also known as Chandhan Kumar Nandhakumar), 37, an Indian-Canadian tech professional, former Cognizant (CTS) employee and L&T Infotech professional, was shot dead in a targeted homicide at the Woodbine Shopping Centre Plaza in Toronto, Canada.

Toronto Police confirmed that officers responded to reports of a shooting at the mall. The victim, a resident of Brampton, succumbed to his injuries. Police say the shooting was targeted, and the suspect or suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. A heavy police presence followed as paramedics assessed the situation.

Chandan Kumar was also known within the community as a former WhatsApp group administrator of Network of Indians in America before moving to Canada and community volunteer, connected with Indian professional networks. His sudden death has sparked fear, grief, and serious questions about public safety, especially among Indian techies, immigrants, and international professionals in Canada.
