The VAC Roundtable #99 - Guest: Justin Strekel - Federal Policy Strategist & Cannabis Reform Advocate
For our 99th Veterans Action Council Roundtable, we are pleased to welcome Justin Strekal, an experienced organizer and policy advocate with extensive expertise in cannabis reform and broader public policy issues.
Justin previously served as the federal lobbyist for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), the nation’s longest-running marijuana advocacy organization, where he worked from 2016 to 2021 advancing federal cannabis policy reform. Prior to that, he served as a legislative aide in the Virginia State Senate, where he drafted the first marijuana reform legislation introduced in the chamber—an early step that helped lay the groundwork for Virginia's 2021 legalization.
In addition to his policy work, Justin brings more than a decade of experience managing federal, state, and local political campaigns across the country, giving him a unique perspective on how advocacy, legislation, and electoral politics intersect.
In this roundtable discussion, we will explore the access to cannabis-based therapies.
