Bret and Jake started their professional wrestling journey in A Real Slobberknocker #1  as a tag team called The New Kicks. They came up through the independent circuit together, but tragedy struck just when they got their shot at the big leagues. This issue has Jake debuting as a singles competitor, while Bret plays the role of his manager. As Jake rises up the ranks and pursues gold, Bret falls into the shadows, forgotten. Will their friendship survive this split? Or will resentment grow?
