This is a stunning time of year in this arid region. The landscape has transformed, with lush greenery and bursts of vibrant yellow flowers dotting the terrain. I set out earlier, eager to fly to Dunn Peak—a towering 2,621-meter (8,600-foot) summit surrounded by sharp mountain ridges. But as I soared over Sun Peaks, the temperature was already a brisk 2°C (36°F), and the cold was setting in. Realizing Dunn Peak would be well below freezing, I opted to cut the flight short; an additional 80 minutes in the frigid air was simply too much. This video captures the vastness of Sun Peaks, a spectacular playground for snow sports and year-round outdoor adventures. Overall, it was an excellent flight.
