It was one of my best flying days ever, with a perfectly blue sky and no turbulent air. The aerial views were spectacular and captured the natural beauty of the Kamloops area.

The main feature was Sun Peaks ski resort, which is the second largest ski area in Canada. I made several passes around the mountains, showing the vastness of that recreational complex. I then continued in a straight line toward Paul Lake, and I was surprised to see that it still appeared to have open water.

While processing my GPS flight track, I noticed that in one section I had a 57 km (35 mi) tailwind. I didn’t feel a thing.
