It was a psychologically challenging flight into the very remote country around Tranquille Lake. I found myself continually scanning for the best place to crash (no place to land) in the event of an engine failure. The young trees in the reseeded areas looked like the safest option because of their uniform height. The weather was good and mostly calm, though a sharp drop in temperature made the flight uncomfortable. The air over the lake was turbulent.
