The video discusses Howard Bloom's book, reviewing its perspective on climate change and its connection to human self-perception.

[82:20-82:38]

The speaker introduces Howard Bloom and the book, mentioning its critique of climate change discussions by drawing a connection between Greta Thunberg's views and self-hate.

She says, "The case for the, uh, Sexual Cosmos pulls us out of the Greta Thunberg self-hate machine." Uh, this I guess we're talking about And this was my, uh, guess about this, that because Greta Thunberg says that humans have caused climate change, that equates to self-hate?

[82:38-82:59]

The speaker clarifies that human actions have increased atmospheric carbon dioxide and affected the climate, but emphasizes the planet's history of natural climate variability.

Is that what you're saying? Well, no, it's not entirely that. Yes, um, we've probably increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere a lot. That has probably increased and changed the climate, but this is a planet of climate catastrophe. It always has been. It's been that way for 4.5 billion years.

[82:59-83:24]

The speaker describes past climate extremes, such as dinosaurs living at the South Pole during a period of intense global warming.

And that means that the next great ice age or the next really big global warming I mean, there have been go- global warming so profound that there have been dinosaurs living at the South Pole eating tropical plants. Um, there has been no ice cover at all, and that's- that wasn't done by humans. That wasn't done by smokestacks and tailpipes. That was done by nature itself.

[83:24-83:46]

The speakers conclude that focusing solely on man-made climate change overlooks larger climate cycles, and highlights the need for climate stabilization technologies.

Right. So when we focus entirely on manmade climate change, we are overlooking the next big ice age or the next big global warming that could be about to thwump us over the side of the head. Yes, we need to learn how to alter the temperature. We need to learn what I call climate stabilization technologies.
