Tom R. Chambers' DSGA Triangle 'Black Circle' Bisection is a fascinating, albeit conceptually dense, exploration of geometric abstraction and its potential for dialogue with iconic works of art history. By taking Kazimir Malevich's 'Black Circle,' a cornerstone of Suprematism, and subjecting it to the principles of his own 'Digital Suprematism - Geometric Abstraction (DSGA)' project, Chambers creates a visually arresting and thought-provoking hybrid.

The core concept – bisecting the stark simplicity of the 'Black Circle' with a triangle constructed from DSGA lines – is inherently interesting. It immediately sets up a visual tension between the minimalist foundational work and the potentially complex, digitally-derived lines of the DSGA project. The decision to have only one side of the triangle intersect the circle keeps the composition from feeling overly crowded, allowing 'Black Circle' to retain its power while still being actively engaged with. The lines' colors and gradients act in contrast to the black of the circle creating a dynamic visual interplay.

This contrasting palette enhances the geometric nature of the piece, highlighting the precision and intentionality behind the bisection. However, the backdrop color, a dominant hue from the DSGA color scheme, introduces an element of instability. The blending and dissipation of lines against the backdrop, while potentially creating a sense of disruption, could also be interpreted as a visual representation of the tension between the digital and physical realms, a dissolving of boundaries between form and background. At times, the black of "Black Circle" also negates the black of the DSGA line creating even greater disruption.

The project demonstrates a clear understanding of both Malevich's Suprematism and the principles of digital abstraction. The contrasting colors and gradients of the DSGA lines against 'Black Circle' produce a visually engaging and dynamic composition. The blending of lines into the background creates an element of visual disruption that adds layers of interpretation.

DSGA Triangle 'Black Circle' Bisection is a conceptually strong project that is a visually stimulating and thought-provoking experience. While potentially

challenging for some viewers, the project offers a unique and innovative dialogue between art historical legacies and contemporary digital practices. It's an example of how digital tools can be used to reinterpret and engage with iconic works of art.
